BIO / FILMO
Born in 1978, Julien Leconte studied poorly in Fine Arts and Performing Arts at the University of Rennes 2. He met especially Jean-Claude Rozec, Amandine Gallerand, Mathieu Courtois and Matthieu Chevallier who will remain valuable collaborators throughout his career.
In 2003, he co-directed with Jean-Claude Rozec and Amandine Gallerand two short films in 2D animation, "Chevaliers" and "Dame Saccharine", selected at the Annecy festival.
He then began a career as a stopmotion animator on "Calypso is like so" by Bruno Collet, whom he will follow on almost all his subsequent films.
During the next 15 years, he will be given the chance to explore a wide range of animation film professions: animator (stopmotion, 2D and 3D), compositing operator, set designer, assistant director, scriptwriter ...
In 2017, with Isabelle Lenoble, he co-directed the "Science of botheration" TV show, an ambitious and a bit messy mix of animation and comedy in real-life shooting, all in the form of fake wildlife documentaries.
